I am RickSanchez and WoodyWoodpecker Brave lost all my passwords after a crash with YouTube. How do I recover my account when the password I thought I knew doesn't work?
It's one of the reasons why people shouldn't use browser password stores. They should be using a cryptographic password generator that predictably produces something random for every site. Then you just need to backup the code and salt once, and remember your master pass.

And I just had a thought of a different way to do it. Do you want me to copy your password factors from this account to the other? Then you can just use the same password you used for this one.
It is a bug in Brave because they encrypt the password list, there might have been an update while I was on YouTube and it crashed and I had to kill the browser.
I may be able to help. Check your pms some time tomorrow. Odd question, have you tried restarting your computer? It could be that on your most recent launch of brave the keyring didn't unlock.

I restarted the computer. Same thing. I can save passwords to it, but I can't access original passwords on it. https://community.brave.app/t/suddenly-lost-all-my-saved-passwords-from-brave-but-did-nothing/633144 person got the same results.
