ISPs already block a bunch of domains on a whim. I have found places like TPB don't resolve in some places using the default DNS settings.

I used Google's DNS 8.8.8.8 and it doesn't block torrent sites.

There are also many other Free DNS servers out there. Keep in mind that google, or anybody who hosts them can decide to block any domain they want, and I would be wary of any big company whose goals are profits over what's better for the greater good.

Damn that's bad actually, they were on the side of good, if only because blocking tons of domains is burdensome.

If only there was some way to share data between a lot of people in a distributed way that could make it so each computer could have their own recently up to date data on what ip address is tied to which ever service. Like some sort of torrent of data.

We are trying to track which IPs have a resource. So mapping one to another can be done with a hash table. We just need it to be distributed.

Do you mean bit torrent, that's what this is about.
