Yeah this continues from the trade war with China in 2017, directly benefitting Russia, so that U.S. soy exports to China first fell from $12.2 billion (57%) in 2017, to $3.1 billion (18%) in 2018, resulting in China buying soy beans and soy oil from Russia thereafter. Russian agricultural exports to China have increased significantly since 2018 (+15% in 2025), thanks to Russia's US president. Major US agricultural corporations are also happy because they've been buying failed family farms since that time. Iowa elected a Democrat Senator in a special election recently, which may be a sign of trends to come.
