I watched some of it Christmas Day. Some family roped me into it. I wasn't impressed with it, at all.
To be fair I haven't watched everything up to that point. I watched season 1. I thought it was ok. The substance of it was good, but spread very thin over the number of episodes and length. Very effective hooks. Just enough to get you to continue watching an engineered waste of time. When I saw episode 1 of season 2 and felt absolutely no hook I said good. From what I saw Christmas day leaping to season 5 I don't think I regret falling off that waggon.

I saw some of what I call the Walking Dead effect. It's where the characters becomes so iconic, or at least the directors feel so, that they think its reasonable to just hang the camera on a character for an uncomfortable amount of time. The Walking Dead was so bad toward the end that's all the show was. And its shots were almost always from a low angle. The last season of Walking Dead was just panning to different 40 second shots of people's nostrels. There was no content.
I watched that first season and will had gotten kidnapped into an evil hell scape ruled by basically Satan. That makes it look like that's why he's gay, brainwashed by Satan.
I enjoyed season 1. It was new and interesting. 2 and 3 were not great.
Season 4 was really good. It was by far the best written.
Season 5 here is dropping the ball. They are trying to tie everything together like it was all some big grand story all along but its not really working. The plots from season 1-3 are trying to be worked into the plot of season 4/5 and it's just jagged. They don't really make sense in this context.
Anyway I'm in it til the end but in 5 years no one will remember this show.
