I've been using creatine and l-theanine for a while now, helps me with my fatigue that I have from my other health problems.

I've been trying to make a point to do Creatine. Maybe I just don't get enough of an effect from it so I don't stick to it. But L-Theanine is a definite positive. I have some Magnesium Glycinate arriving today, so that's going to be getting added to my stack if I like it.

I take both in pill form, 1 to 2 pills of Theanine and 5 pills of creatine (5 a day says the bottle).

How does L-theanine work with creatine?

I still have some creatine. Used it for muscles 20 years ago. Always gave me cramps.

Might start using it again when I'm doing heavy work soon. Weather's improving so...

I think they would mostly be independent. If you are getting cramps while on creatine, you probably need to hydrate more or take less creatine. Creatine in general improves your energy regeneration during a short sustained burst.

I did some research because you got me thinking what interval does it improve power output. 5 seconds to 3 minutes. Less than that it's just the instantaneous power of your muscles. More than that your aerobic metabolism / glycolisis is your bottleneck. It's why lifters use it more than most other sports. The argument for creatine in other sports is improving off the line power and making weight training more effective.

The argument is it does the same thing for the brain. Better 5 seconds to 1 minute power.

The real reason I gave you that long speal is really to say that creatine doesn't always improve your energy at work depending on what it is. For something that is multiple hours of sustained effort it's not going to be a big help. Unless there are short bursts of high power effort involved.
