Austerity measures and government job cuts are what are getting them out of the mess they created. Poverty is at a 7 year low.

Not sure if you've read what I've posted. Here's another: https://www.reuters.com/world/americas/argentina-credit-stress-deepens-inflation-utility-costs-hit-households-2026-04-13

Melei and rich pals have shifted all government control and corporate profit to a few wealthy individuals, at the expense of the population.

Austerity often fails like this during economic downturns by severely stifling growth, deepening recessions, and failing to reduce debt-to-GDP ratios. It fails when decreased government spending lowers demand, causing businesses to shrink and unemployment to rise, which in turn reduces tax revenue. The only one's who are not suffering severely are the very wealthy.

(The solution is to invest in the people, not to reduce their lives to a living hell for the sake of a few rich people.)
