Unless the hallucinations can be worked out then it's reached it's limits. IE you're not replacing a lawyer if AI is making up case citations. Here in Canada they have already started to fine people/firms using AI and not disclosing it. Has a tendency to waste people time with made up gibberish.
They also need to figure out where to get fresh training data from. The use of synthetic data is an AI form of inbreeding. I can already see the redundancies in AI slop... and it's boring. I mean it makes a video and it's coherent and makes sense but they're not great either...
Last, the power and resources needed are an issue. I said in another post, a RAM kit I bought back in December 2024 for $170 in now $800+. We are going to need to see some return on investment or the whole thing is going to implode.
I don't think so. People who think it has peaked are using old tools. One product has peaked. It gets surpassed by other products. Those peak. It gets surpassed by other products. People who think the ven diagram of ChatGPT and AI are just 1:1 think it has peaked.
Around a year ago I predicted AI would make a huge difference, you could tell it to make a movie for you and it would and it'd look great like hollywood blockbusters. Or it could design you a great game tailored for you. We're not there yet, we just got bad videos with too many fingers. But it's coming soon and hasnt peaked.
