Or just the Natural Law of existence without any gods.

Right, because comforting made-up stories actually explain everything?
Mere tiny mortals can't fathom nor need to understand how the Universe exists. Sure it's nice when some good theories come up, but certainty is folly.
If you believe in the "God of Nature" then you believe the universe is its own cause. (See Spinoza.)
