I think if the whole world announced, hey, for 2026 everybody is taking a break from AI just to assess if we want to keep doing it. Then I think the whole world would be excited for 2026. That would be a kickass final year with no AI knowing that would be could the last one. Then in 2027 we could pick it up again if we decide we want to.

One of my resolutions is "don't be chronically online", I consider that to be my part, since online activity is fed to AI as well. I like your resolution of doing off-grid Sundays.
Would you believe me if I told you my real resolution is way way way more complicated. I might do a write up of it in a bit. I might encourage people to do something similar. It might be good.
